After getting caught up on the reason for the mass exit from Tumblr, I called my friend. I figured, it was time.

Something I’ve never talked about here is that I have wanted to start a social site that was safe for all of us for a long time now. Not “All” of us meaning some of us but “All” of us, meaning ALL of us. I have a notebook filled with things I’d want this site to be. Tumblr played a big part in my wanting to do this in the first place. I get upset every single time I see someone getting harassed, asking for help and then being told that it is “Free Speech.” Only to have those same people that asked for help later told that they were in danger of having their accounts suspended for defending themselves. This happens a lot. Every time it does, I open that notebook.

There have been two things that prevented me from doing this. Time and money. If I did it, I would want to do it right. I just didn’t have the time. 

This is where fate comes in...

It wasn’t just my time that I needed, it was someone else’s to. I have the ideas but I don’t know how to set things up, code, etc. Guess who does? One of my best friends! He just finished a project and has exactly what I needed, time and know how. Turns out, right now, I have the time too. Still, it wasn’t until I saw what happened today that I really decided to do it. 

So here goes-I am starting a new Social site. I have the right people and the right time, now I just need the right money! You know what that means! Yet another person asking for a donation. I know, I know. This is an every day thing here on Tumblr! Still, I’m going to ask. I know it sounds corny to say that you believe in signs but…I do. I have my sign, the time, the man power and the ideas. I just need the funding.

Tomorrow, I am going to write something more in depth and tell you my plans as well as set up a fundraising campaign. Hopefully, you’ll like them and want to help. We are going to be happy to have any help we can get!
